PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TRIVALLEY PRIMARY CARE
LOWER SALFORD OFFICE

R. Lawrence Derstine, M.D., after 37 years in active practice in Harleysville, is retiring from practice at the end of this year. He founded a practice in Harleysville, and nurtured its growth into the Lower Salford Medical Associates. And in 1995, he actively participated in the transition of that practice into the formation of the Lower Salford office of TriValley Primary Care. In retirement, Dr. Derstine plans to remain in the area, travel more extensively, and stay active in his barbershop quartet group, as well as garden more extensively and increase his horseback riding.

In September, David R. Buckwalter, M.D. will be joining this office as a full-time family practitioner. Dr. Buckwalter grew up in Horsham, went to Temple University Medical School where he was in Dr. Carlier's class. He received his training at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon County. He is board certified in family practice. He was in practice in Myerstown for four years. Dr. Buckwalter comes to us with extensive experience in general family practice, hospital work, and rural medicine. He welcomes new patients, and looks forward to joining this community, and this practice.

We are fortunate to have Dr. Buckwalter join this practice. He joins with TriValley's other 28 primary care physicians and 4 nurse practitioners committed to providing quality medical care in the community. TriValley Primary Care is the premier primary care group practice with seven offices serving southeast Pennsylvania's Bux-Mont region. We're sure that you will be pleased as well, and hope that you will make him feel welcome. His schedule is set and the office staff is able to schedule appointments for him now.

And, we are saddened by Dr. Derstine's departure, but are comforted knowing that he will be only a stone's throw away, and is very deserving of an active retirement.
